Northern Pike Fishing

Northern Pike are the masters of the lake and eat almost everything that moves. In Birch Lake, big Northerns are caught and released on a regular basis.

Many people in the past fished for Pike for fun but only ate Walleyes. The growing trend is to eat small Pike because when they are small and fresh, they taste very much like Walleye. It's true that they are a little tricky to clean so if you have never cleaned a Pike, we will show you how.

The limit for Northern Pike is 4 in your possession and the season is open all year. Northern Pike are easy to catch and hit almost any lure. The trick is how to catch a big trophy Pike. To find out how, please read Northern Pike Fishing Tips.
